Closure of the Wandsworth Wellbeing Service

With heavy hearts, we share the sad news of the closure of our long-standing community wellbeing programme, the Wandsworth Wellbeing Service, on 4th April 2025.

The primary funding stream for this service has been through personal budgets, and unfortunately the funding we receive through this pathway has not kept pace with the increasing costs required to deliver the service. Despite efforts to seek an increase in funding, requests were declined, resulting in us having to subsidise the service for some time. Ultimately, this has placed significant strain on our charity’s resources, leading us to the tough but necessary conclusion to close the service.

For over 30 years, the Wandsworth Wellbeing Service has provided invaluable support to those managing and improving their mental health. Through a diverse range of activities, including creative writing, cookery classes, and other practical and creative sessions, the service has played a crucial role in supporting individuals in need of mental health support.

We remain deeply committed to supporting those who have benefited from the Wandsworth Wellbeing Service and will be working closely with service users and their care teams, where involved, to help them transition to our other services or to signpost them to external support where appropriate, ensuring they continue to access the right support for their needs.

At West Central London Mind, we are committed to exploring what new community services and sustainable programmes  we can provide in Wandsworth, and we will be investigating funding opportunities to enable this in the very near future.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been part of the service over the years: our staff, volunteers, and, most importantly, the individuals who attended and made it such a special and impactful service.
